India-Pakistan: One Year After Military Conflict, Ceasefire Holds - but Little Else Does
The military said it would counter any hostile move with greater strength, precision and resolve after last year’s four-day conflict with India.
On Thursday, the Pakistan Armed Forces warned they would respond with "greater strength, precision and resolve" to any future attacks, marking the anniversary of last year's four-day conflict with India known as Marka-e-Haq.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, targeting alleged "terrorist infrastructure" in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, which prompted Pakistan's retaliatory operation codenamed Bunya-num Marsoos.
By mastering Multi-domain Operations and investing in advanced technologies, the Pakistan Air Force remains "fully prepared to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan," the Inter-Services Public Relations stated.
Despite the United States President Donald Trump-brokered ceasefire that halted fighting on May 10, 2025, diplomatic ties remain downgraded as both nations maintain hardened military doctrines and mistrust.
Observers warn that a lowered threshold for conflict persists in South Asia, as Harsh Pant, vice president at the Observer Research Foundation, notes India may "continue to climb the escalation ladder" to impose costs on perceived violence.
