Qatar is stepping in to help revive U.S.-Iran negotiations as Washington and Tehran remain sharply divided over control of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The diplomatic push comes amid rising tensions and growing concerns over the impact of the standoff on regional security and global shipping.
Trump indicated he could return to negotiations with Iran, but stated he would not allow them to possess nuclear weapons. He also said he would meet with North Korean leader Kim and affirmed that control over the Strait of Hormuz remained in place.
