OMV Petrom announced that it is joining the association that explores the Khan Tervel offshore gas perimeter from the Bulgarian Black Sea sector, extending its presence to a region which is most important for European energy security. The Romanian oil and gas company, controlled by the Austrian OMV group, is one of the largest energy producers in South-East Europe, reports Novinite.
OMV Petrom extends its presence in the Black Sea by purchasing a 25% share in the offshore Khan Tervel, located in the Bulgarian Black Sea sector. The transaction, which marks a new stage in the regional energy strategy, is to be approved by the authorities of Sofia.
