The cost of hosting the 2036 Olympics would be around 184 billion forints for the Hungarian state. According to a financial plan that reached the press, Hungary would still only cover 10 percent of the total cost of the five-ringed games. However, the reality is that in past Olympics there has hardly been an example where the final costs did not exceed the amount estimated during the application phase.
