With the great approval of the citizens for the Olympic campaign "Cologne Rhine Ruhr", Munich is becoming a strong competitor. Does the city now have to fear the competition?

The people in Germany's most populous state are in favour of the Olympics - and that is clear. Head of the state Hendrik Wüst is enthusiastic about the results. Only in one city the quorum is not reached. There is also a lot of agreement in the far north.
Prime Minister Wüst sees a "very strong vote" for the Olympic Games. In 16 of the 17 cities around two thirds voted for the application.
NRW receives clear approval for the Olympic application: 66 percent are in favour of an application for the games. However, other German cities also have tailwinds.
