2 Arrested After Police Find Drugs in Their Car Along with 5-Year-Old Child at Brewer Park

BREWER, MAINE, JUL 31 – Two Old Town residents face multiple charges after police found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia concealed in a child’s car seat, authorities said.

A man and woman were arrested late Tuesday night after Brewer police found drugs in their car along with a 5-year-old at a park. Richard Newell, 48, of Old Town has been charged with unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, and Amanda Brothers, 42, of Old Town has been charged with unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, endangering the welfare of a child and falsifying physical evidence, according to the Brewer Police Department.
