Rocky Mountain National Park announced Tuesday the opening day for Old Fall River Road, the 11,817-foot high uphill-only dirt road in Colorado's largest national park.

Crews at Rocky Mountain National Park are preparing Old Fall River Road to open for the season to vehicles on Friday morning, July 4. The historic road normally opens to vehicles in early July. The road will be closed to all uses, including pedestrians, people walking dogs on leash, and cyclists, between 6 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and will be closed for dust abatement on Wednesday and Thursday, according to a news release.
