Ginowan city found levels of “forever chemicals” well below Japan’s legal limit in water sampled from a manhole oozing white foam near a Marine airfield.

[Ginowan] By January 17th, the city of Ginowan had published on its website the results of a water quality survey regarding the foam that erupted from a manhole in Isa, near the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, on January 29th. The combined level of the organic fluorine compounds PFOS and PFOA was 6 nanograms per liter, below the national guideline value of 50 nanograms.
