The world of hand fishermen, best known as noodling, will take center stage with the return of the 25th annual Okie Noodling Tournament this weekend in Pauls Valley.

Okie Noodling marks 25 years with a return to its roots

On Saturday, Pauls Valley’s Okie Noodling Tournament will mark 25 years of celebrating the unique sport of noodling and those who practice it. To commemorate the milestone, Pauls Valley Tourism Director Tawni Huggans said this year’s event will lean into its roots, paying homage to earlier tournaments and celebrating the culture surrounding noodling.
