Asian stock markets weakened in trading on Friday (11/9/2026), with Japan's Nikkei index falling more than 3 percent.

Japan's Nikkei index plunged more than 3% in early trading today (11th), as markets worried about renewed tensions in the Middle East and soaring oil prices potentially exacerbating inflationary pressures. The Nikkei 225 index fell 3.03% to 63,291 points at around 9:15 AM (8:15 AM Taiwan time). Brent crude oil rose 0.5% to $108.15 per barrel after surging 6.34% in the previous trading session.
