Officials urge Calgarians to save water, take shorter showers after water main break
Calgary implements Stage 4 water restrictions and boil-water advisories after Bearspaw South Feeder Main rupture affects 60% of the city’s water supply, officials said.

- Officials advised Calgarians to follow Stage 4 restrictions pausing outdoor water use, save 10 to 30 litres daily with three‑minute showers and full loads, but Nicole Newton noted no `measurable reduction` yet.
- City officials pledged to fix the Bearspaw South Feeder Main, which supplies about 60 per cent of Calgary, with a technical briefing scheduled Thursday at 2 p.m., while New Year’s events will proceed.

Major Calgary water main bursts again for second time in a year and a half
Calgary – The city’s Bearspaw south feeder main has burst again for the second time in a year and a half. The Dec. 30 rupture led to a loss of 80 million litres of water while its reserves dropped to 459 litres. Residents have consequently been asked to conserve their water use until the necessary repairs are made. The estimated repair time is two weeks. Global News report
