Officials scour mountainous area of Montana for ex-US soldier suspected of killing 4 in bar shooting
ANACONDA, MONTANA, AUG 2 – Michael Paul Brown, a 45-year-old former soldier, killed four inside The Owl Bar before fleeing into nearby mountains where authorities continue a manhunt, officials said.
- On Aug. 1, law enforcement is scouring mountains west of Anaconda for Michael Paul Brown, 45, after he allegedly shot four people at the Owl Bar and fled in a white pickup truck.
- On Friday, Clare Boyle said her uncle, Brown, has long battled mental illness, and neighbors confirm he lived next door to The Owl Bar.
- Law enforcement converged on the Stumptown Road area west of Anaconda after authorities found Brown’s truck, though he remained at large.
- Authorities have told residents to stay inside, and will release victims’ names after families are notified, with Barbie Nelson saying everyone is rattled.
