A person was infected by rare, life-threatening bacteria found in the coastal waters of a beach on Buzzards Bay, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) said Wednesday. Vibrio vulnificus was detected in that water, DPH stated. These bacteria are typically found in warmer waters in the Gulf Coast, Louisiana and Florida.
