Officials confirm identity of rural Cook fire victim

BEATTY TOWNSHIP — Officials have confirmed the identity of the second person who died in a July 17 house fire north of Cook. In an update Thursday, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office said the victim is Susan Patricia Hein, 67, of Cook. The sheriff's office had not been able to locate and contact next of kin for Hein, which had stalled the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in making an identification.
