The Atlantic tropical cyclone season in 2026 will have a new official list of names for storms and hurricanes. These are assigned when a system develops sustained winds of at least 62 km/h, a condition necessary to reach the tropical storm category.The nomenclature alternates male and female names.The lists are reused every six years.However, the names associated with phenomena of great destruction or human impact are permanently removed.
