Officer: Purpose of Estonia's defense forces is not to provide language training

Chief of the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces, Major General Vahur Karus, said in "Esimeses stuudio" that the purpose of conscription and the Defence Forces is not to offer language training to people who do not speak Estonian. According to the Major General, young people should be taught to be high-quality soldiers and not to place emphasis on how a person learns the language and integrates into society.
