A COMMUNITY to commemorate the suffering of war orphans in the Ustasha children's camp in Sisak in 1942 was organized by the Serbian National Council (SNV) in Park Diana Budisavljević, the heroine who organized the rescue and care of Serbian children from the Ustasha camps.

The children's camp in Sisak operated from August 1942 to January 1943, and thousands of children, mostly Serbs from Kozara and other areas affected by persecution, passed through it, said historian Mario Šimunković.
A gathering in memory of the children who died in the Ustasha camp in Sisak, organized by the Serbian National Council, was held today in the Diana Budisavljević Park in Sisak, where a memorial service was also held for the youngest victims of the camp system in the NDH.
