Octopath Traveler 0 Isn't Just a Prequel, It's a Whole New Approach
JUL 31 – Octopath Traveler 0 introduces character customization and town-building while retaining classic battle mechanics in the RPG series, with pre-orders starting immediately.
- During the July Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Square Enix unveiled Octopath Traveler 0, launching for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4th, 2025.
- Following Octopath Traveler II, it is the third mainline entry and the first official franchise game on Nintendo Switch 2, releasing this year.
- The new entry supports its innovations by introducing character customization and blending core mechanics like Path Actions and the Break and Boost battle system with town-building mechanics requiring lumber, stone, and cloth.
