Oceanside RCMP arrest Parksville man after series of Vancouver Island break-ins
- The Oceanside RCMP arrested a 35-year-old Parksville man on May 22 after several break-ins in the French Creek area of Riley Road.
- The arrest followed multiple incidents including an attempted entry at 1 a.m. And a break-and-enter in progress just before 7 a.m. On the same street.
- Officers rapidly identified the suspect using security footage from residents and confirmed break-ins at vacant homes and a nearby shed.
- Police are still searching for several unrecovered stolen items, such as a blue Adidas jacket, a red helmet used for motocross, a pink handbag, a Nintendo Switch gaming device, multiple watches, and a wooden-framed airsoft rifle with a scope. - The suspect is currently being held in custody and is set to appear in court on May 23, while authorities are actively looking to recover stolen belongings and clothing that may have been discarded or hidden nearby.
