Brendan O'Carroll Cancels Mrs Brown's Boys Specials over 'Unexpected Medical Issue'
The comedian said a CT scan found two jaw fractures, and he and MCD Productions are working to reschedule the shows for 2027.
On Monday, actor Brendan O'Carroll announced the cancellation of the 2026 Mrs. Brown's Boys Christmas and New Year's specials, citing an "unexpected medical issue" requiring immediate attention.
A CT scan revealed two fractures in O'Carroll's mandible, requiring "immediate surgery" and a recovery period of several months following the procedure.
The Dubliner is also postponing his Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Panto shows at the 3 Arena and Gleneagle Arena, which were originally scheduled for later this year.
O'Carroll is working with MCD Productions and the BBC to reschedule these shows for 2027, thanking both organizations for their "support and understanding at this difficult time."
Focused on getting "back to full health," O'Carroll promised that Agnes Brown and her family will return to screens in 2027, with the BBC coordinating plans for the show's comeback.
