NYC beaches open this Memorial Day weekend, officials tout new safety measures

Mayor Eric Adams and other city officials will be at Orchard Beach on Friday morning to drum up some excitement for the summer season and discuss safety measures.

Friday (May 23) was the first day that New York City would open its city beaches in the summer of 2025. Mayor Adams and Police Commissioner Tisch came to the boardwalk of Orchard Beach in the Bronx to jointly announce this summer's safety plan to ensure that New Yorkers can enjoy the summer seaside scenery safely.
