NVIDIA Launches Cosmos 3, Chip-Fab Tools and Humanoid Robot Platform

The open physical AI model adds native vision reasoning, multimodal generation and action prediction, while a new coalition brings together robotics and AI partners.

  • On Monday, NVIDIA launched Cosmos 3, an open world foundation model designed to help robots and autonomous vehicles simulate and navigate real-world environments.
  • Trained on 20 trillion tokens of multimodal data, the architecture includes nearly 1 billion images and 400 million real and synthetic videos to power physical reasoning.
  • NVIDIA released "super" and "nano" versions immediately for high-accuracy training and fast inference, with an "edge" model that can run locally coming soon.
  • The newly formed NVIDIA Cosmos Coalition—including Agile Robots, Black Forest Labs, and Runway—aims to advance open world models through shared research and evaluation methods.
  • Ming-Yu Liu, vice president of NVIDIA's Cosmos Lab, said machines must understand the world to "make a plan" and become more generalizable in physical AI.
