Nutella Unveils New Flavor, Which Will Be Made in Chicagoland
The spread blends Nutella’s familiar creaminess with roasted peanuts after fans asked for a peanut version for years, Ferrero North America said.
- On Wednesday, Ferrero North America officially launched Nutella Peanut nationwide, marking the brand's first new flavor innovation in over 60 years.
- After over 60 years of sticking to its signature chocolate-hazelnut formula, Noah Szporn, senior vice president of spreads at Ferrero North America, said the company listened to fans requesting a peanut version for years.
- Nutella Peanut blends the brand's signature creaminess with roasted peanuts; celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli called it "Peanut yum," while others said they didn't think Nutella could get any better.
- Fans can purchase the spread at major retailers including Kroger and Walmart, with a Nutella Peanut pop-up event scheduled for May 16 and 17 at 372 Lafayette Street in New York City.
- Earlier this month, a Nutella jar floated across an Artemis II livestream, inspiring Szporn to say "anything is possible," prompting the brand's decision to launch its first new flavor in over 60 years.
