Nurse Out, Aubin in at Canadian Women’s Hockey Team Selection Camp
Hockey Canada made the change without giving a reason as it trims a 42-player camp to 25 for the world championship.
On Thursday, Hockey Canada removed Veteran forward Sarah Nurse from the world championship selection camp roster in Quebec City, replacing her with college forward Alexia Aubin without providing a reason.
Nurse, a three-time Olympian, helped Canada win world championships in 2021, 2022, and 2024. The 31-year forward recently missed eight weeks of the Vancouver Goldeneyes' PWHL season following an arm injury.
Canada's selection camp involves 42 invited players, with coaches narrowing the group to 25 for the final roster. The seven-day camp officially began on Oct 8 in Quebec City.
The upcoming world championship will take place in Esbjerg and Herning, Denmark, with the United States entering as the defending champion seeking to retain its title.
Aubin, a junior at Colgate University, joins the roster following Nurse's departure as the team finalizes its squad to represent Canada in the international tournament.
