- Rising energy costs, higher wages, and generally higher prices for raw materials have strained British businesses, forcing many toward collapse amid global economic uncertainty.
- Financial services led the increases at 79.2%, followed by wholesale at 63.9%, media at 63.8%, and food and drug retailers at 58.5% in critical distress.
- Thomas McKay, managing partner for BTG in Scotland, said the region's rise of over 20 percent is "highly concerning" as Scotland leads British increases year-on-year.
- Ric Traynor, executive chairman at BTG, said rising energy prices will "push inflation higher" this autumn, potentially creating shockwaves across many industries into 2027.
