NTA Rejects Claim of NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Paper Leak on Telegram, Warns Action over Fake Video

The agency said the viral video was fabricated and warned that spreading false exam claims is a serious offence.

  • On Sunday, the National Testing Agency and the Centre successfully conducted the NEET 2026 re-examination, subsequently dismissing a viral social media video falsely claiming the question paper was leaked on Telegram.
  • The re-examination followed the original test held last month, which was compromised when the question paper leaked, requiring NTA officials to coordinate logistics for the rescheduled process.
  • Across 5,440 centres in India and 14 centres abroad, more than 20 lakh candidates participated in the re-examination, which the testing agency administered in 13 languages.
  • On Monday, the Press Information Bureau Fact Check unit flagged the video as fake, stating "reports alleging paper leak are unfounded and false," while NTA is working with I4C and law enforcement to penalize originators.
  • NTA Director General Abhishek Singh expressed the agency is "100 per cent confident" in the process, as evaluation will begin shortly with results expected faster than usual after compressing the entire exam cycle into 37 days.
