I Tried the Controversial Android Phone that's Got the Internet Buzzing - and Left Impressed
INDIA, JUL 1 – The Nothing Phone 3 features flagship specs and a unique Glyph Matrix design but faces criticism for high pricing in India, where the 12GB/256GB model costs ₹79,999 ($933).
- Nothing officially launched the Nothing Phone on July 4, 2025, with pre-orders opening that day and shipping starting July 15, including in the US.
- This model replaces the iconic Glyph interface with a new Glyph Matrix design featuring 489 mini-LEDs controlled by a physical button, marking a notable design shift.
- Equipped with the Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 processor from Qualcomm and running Nothing OS 3.5 built on Android 15, the Phone features up to 16GB of RAM, a 5,150mAh battery, and a triple camera array with three 50MP sensors.
- The base model is priced at $799, with Nothing committing to provide Android system upgrades for five years and security updates for seven years. CEO Carl Pei also highlighted that this phone's CPU performance is 36% higher compared to the previous model.
- If the Phone delivers improved camera performance and fluid software, it may contend with top flagship phones, despite debate over its true flagship status and its departure from midrange pricing.
