Victoria battles out-of-control bushfires as the whole country faces extreme heat wave
Victoria's firefighters says the state faces the most hazardous bushfire conditions since the Black Summer six years ago. They continue to battle out of control bushfires and catastrophic fire danger warnings are in place for several areas tomorrow. The state will also be under a total fire ban. Every state and territory is experiencing severe to extreme heat wave conditions, with temperatures in the 40s.
Catastrophic Fire Day declared
As we went to press this morning, Victorian fire authorities issued a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating for tommorrow, Friday, January 9, for the North Central, Northern Country and Wimmera districts.
