Another country has approved a law prohibiting minors under the age of 15 from using social networks. The dramatic move, which includes sanctions such as slowing down browsing and huge fines for technology companies, comes in response to a wave of severe violence spread online.
The regulation will create "safe digital spaces" for children under the age of 15 and encourage controlled use. Age verification systems will prevent minors from accessing content inappropriate for their age and development, according to information collected by the Turkish news agency Anatolia.
The Turkish Grand National Assembly passed legislation on April 22 that restricts children's use of social media.
