Some of the Austevoll vessels used the Pentecost to catch North Sea herring. Of these, "Slaatterøy" was out with a catch of 380 tons of the fragile but sought-after herring.

Several boats started this year's fishing for North Sea herring during the Whitsun weekend. A total of 955 tonnes were reported from the field at Vikingbanken.
