Norwegian diplomat behind Oslo Accords to apologise for Epstein ties
Rod-Larsen says he should have cut ties with Epstein earlier as Norwegian police and parliament investigate loans, property deals and travel linked to the financier.
- Former Norwegian diplomat Terje Rød-Larsen will apologize for his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein in an NRK documentary airing Wednesday evening. "I deeply regret today the relationship I had with Epstein," Rød-Larsen told the broadcaster.
- Prosecutors are examining charges of "complicity in aggravated corruption" against Rød-Larsen and "aggravated corruption" against Mona Juul, his fellow diplomat wife, following investigations into financial dealings with Epstein.
- Documents from the Department of Justice released in January reveal sustained contacts with Epstein until 2019, while his will bequeathed $10 million to their two children. Both deny any offense.
- Next week, Norway's parliament will question foreign minister Espen Barth Eide and his predecessors since 2005, including Jonas Gahr, who is now prime minister, as part of a broader parliamentary scrutiny.
