Northwest Arkansas coffee chain named best coffee shop in the world
Onyx Coffee Lab earned top spot for innovation, sustainability and quality from more than 15,000 shops evaluated by 800 judges and 350,000 public votes.
- At CoffeeFest Madrid, the second edition of The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops was presented today, awarding Onyx Coffee Lab as the top shop.
- Guided by a commitment to specialty coffee, Onyx Coffee Lab emphasised practices like rigorous roast control, barista training, and solar energy, organisers said.
- More than 15,000 coffee shops were analysed to produce the ranked list, combining evaluations from over 800 professional judges with public voting which exceeded 350,000 votes.
- Publication of the ranking highlights emerging global coffee capitals and a more diverse international coffee community, organisers say the list serves as a benchmark and guide for coffee lovers and industry professionals.
- The podium was completed by Tim Wendelboe and Alquimia Coffee, the 2026 edition was supported by DaVinci Gourmet and other sponsors, and the United States led with 9 coffee shops.
