Murder Investigation Launched Following Discovery of a Body in North Wales
Police are seeking witnesses after a body was found in a burning van, and officers said the victim’s identity remains unknown.
On Sunday, October 4, North Wales Police launched a murder investigation after discovering a body inside a burning van at Gas Works Lane in Prestatyn at approximately 11:30 PM.
Emergency Services attended the scene after reports of a van on fire, and a police cordon remains in place today to allow officers to conduct their inquiries.
Detective Superintendent Chris Bell said officers are "working at pace to identify the person," with specialist trained officers set to support the family once identity is confirmed.
Bell appealed for anyone in the Gas Works Lane area of Prestatyn who was present between 10:45 PM and 11:45 PM on Sunday and saw anything unusual to contact police.
Witnesses can contact North Wales Police via website live chat or by calling 101, or report anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555111, quoting reference number 0163930.
