B.C. Volleyball Coach Charged with Multiple Sex Offences Against Youths
Police say multiple reports in 2024 led to charges after an investigation into alleged assaults dating back to 2016.
On Thursday, North Vancouver RCMP announced 10 sexual offence charges against volleyball coach Iraj Mozaffari, with the B.C. Prosecution Service laying the charges following an investigation.
Police received multiple reports in December 2024 regarding a local volleyball team, prompting the investigation into alleged offences occurring between January 2016 and December 2024.
Mozaffari faces 10 counts including five counts of sexual assault, three counts of sexual interference of a person under 16, and two counts of touching a young person for sexual purpose.
Publication bans protect the identities of the victims, while North Vancouver RCMP confirmed victims can reach the detachment's victim services unit 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
North Vancouver RCMP Cpl thanked those who provided statements, emphasizing that without the victims' courage, the investigation would not be in its current position.
