BISMARCK, ND – North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler is a step closer to a federal Department of Education post. Baesler’s nomination for Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education passed the Senate’s Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions 12-11 Thursday. No date has been set for the nomination to be presented before the full U.S. Senate.
