Officials say most young animals have parents nearby, and human contact can reduce survival and spread disease, according to North Dakota Game and Fish.

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department reminds people to leave baby wildlife alone if encountered outdoors. The department receives calls every spring about people seeing baby wildlife that appear to have been abandoned by their parents.
