Fumiko Ikari, who served as the "Dialect News" anchor for Radio Okinawa (ROK) for 35 years and worked to popularize the Okinawan language, passed away at 6:45 a.m. on the 22nd at a care facility in Naha City due to old age. She was 96 years old. Her hometown and home are both in Shuri, Naha City.
