A 24-year-old man from Essen appeared before the lay judges at the Nordhorn District Court, presided over by Judge Henning Raterink. He was accompanied by his defense attorney, Thomas Heils, from Nordhorn. The man has been charged with a burglary on New Year's Eve 2025. He and several accomplices allegedly broke into a house in Nordhorn, which they believed to be unoccupied.
