Sheriff Country: Noah Reid to Lead Medical Spinoff; Set to Guest Star

- On Friday, Deadline Hollywood reported that Noah Reid has been tapped to lead a Sheriff Country medical spinoff, appearing in two episodes of the CBS drama's second season as a backdoor pilot.
- Reid will portray Dr. Hudson "Hud" Henshaw, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Edgewater Memorial Hospital, known as "Edge Med." Raised in the outlaw hinterland of Deadwater, Henshaw is the son of convicted felons.
- Showrunner Matt Lopez is developing the medical drama alongside executive producers Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, and Tony Phelan. The project, set in Northern California, expands the Fire Country and Sheriff Country television universe.
- The casting agreement includes a series regular option for Reid if CBS proceeds with the medical spinoff. This strategy mirrors how Sheriff Country lead Morena Baccarin first appeared on the mothership series Fire Country.
- Known for his role as Patrick on Schitt's Creek, the Canadian-American actor previously starred in the metaphysical Western drama Outer Range. Reid also led the 2015 comedy series Kevin From Work before this project.
