No. 9 Ole Miss Routs Vanderbilt 52-17 Behind 4 Combined TDs From Trinidad Chambliss
Chambliss completed 20 of 30 passes for 213 yards as Ole Miss scored four second-quarter touchdowns and rebounded from a loss at Florida.
On Saturday, No. 9 Ole Miss routed host Vanderbilt 52-17 at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., as quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw three touchdown passes to lead the Rebels to victory.
Ole Miss secured the blowout by scoring four touchdowns in a nine-minute span during the second quarter, driving at least 54 yards on four consecutive possessions.
Trinidad Chambliss finished with 213 yards passing, while Commodores quarterback Jared Curtis threw for 222 yards and committed three turnovers during the contest.
Compounding their struggles against a quality Southeastern Conference opponent, Vanderbilt finished with 11 penalties for 92 yards, with their only touchdown coming on a 13-yard pass from Curtis to Ja'Cory Thomas.
While freshman quarterback Curtis demonstrated some growth, the Commodores must improve discipline to remain competitive in the Southeastern Conference; self-inflicted mistakes proved costly against top-tier opponents.
