No wind stirs the Moon and no rain falls there, and that stillness has a strange consequence: the bootprints Apollo astronauts pressed into the grey dust over fifty years ago will likely stay crisp and sharp for millions of years to come

Picture the plain at Tranquility Base right now. The lower half of the lunar module still stands where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin left it. Around it lies disturbed grey soil, discarded equipment and the paths the astronauts followed as they worked.
