Björn Sævar Einarsson, a meteorologist at the Icelandic Meteorological Office, says that no lightning has yet reached land. A yellow warning was issued due to lightning just west of the country. Björn says that it was thought that the lightning could reach land, but that has not happened yet. The warning is, however, in effect until 3 p.m. According to the warning, people are asked to avoid water, hills in the landscape and bare ground.
