No evidence in KPSC probe will be diluted: Karnataka Minister
The government says evidence will not be diluted as investigators examine alleged irregularities in KPSC recruitment exams affecting about 35 lakh candidates.
- Home Minister Priyank Kharge vowed on Saturday that the investigation into alleged KPSC irregularities will not be diluted, promising accountability regardless of the official or political status of those accused.
- To protect the future of candidates appearing for recruitment exams, the government passed a Bill preventing malpractice in Karnataka. Around 35 lakh candidates are appearing for these examinations.
- Action has already been taken under the new legislation, including the arrest of an IAS officer in connection with KPSC irregularities. Kharge emphasized that nobody has the right to play with the youth's future.
- Kharge criticized the BJP for protesting in Kalaburagi instead of questioning the Union Government regarding drought declaration norms, claiming the party lacks the courage to address Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- A report on prison reforms from a committee headed by Additional Director-General Hitendra will be discussed with Chief Minister Shivakumar, with Kharge saying steps will be taken to implement the recommendations.
