French President Emmanuel Macron has reaffirmed France’s sovereignty over Saint-Pierre and Miquelon after Donald Trump posted a map showing the French territory under the U.S. flag. During his visit to the North Atlantic archipelago, Macron said there was “no doubt” it was French. Macron was joined by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, with the visit also focused on closer France-Canada cooperation.
On Sunday, Emmanuel Macron received the Canadian Prime Minister on this French archipelago located a few kilometres from Canada. The two leaders announced a rapprochement on fisheries, security and energy.
