Following Drowning, Jersey Shore Town to Close Beaches After Lifeguards Leave, Mayor Says

Seaside Heights will deploy police patrols to enforce beach closures and issue summonses after lifeguards leave following six rescues and one drowning due to rip currents, officials said.

Seaside Heights plans to strictly enforce after-hours beach closures after a man drowned and several others needed to be rescued from a rip current Monday night, mayor Anthony Vaz said.
