Nigeria: MRS to Sell At N839 Per Litre As Dangote Refinery Increases Petrol Price
- On Monday, Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals announced the PMS gantry price is N799 per litre and MRS Oil Nigeria Plc retail outlets are selling petrol at N839 per litre nationwide.
- After the festive period, the refinery concluded its temporary price support as Dangote Petroleum Refinery absorbed high costs and had pledged a N739 per litre retail price in December last year.
- David Bird said the Refinery continues to supply about 50 million litres per day with normal distribution, and its design flexibility processes varied feedstocks during maintenance.
- Many filling stations failed to reflect the earlier reduced price at the pump, and as of Monday night retail filling stations including Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited dispensed petrol between N805 and N830 per litre.
- Reports from Kpler and DAILY POST note the refinery imported gasoline during Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker downtime, and the Dangote Petroleum Refinery is a $20 billion plant.
