Nicolas Cage Reveals New Role in Hit HBO Crime Drama True Detective
Cage said he is probably doing another season of television, and reports say Season 5 will follow New York detective Henry Logan.
- At New York Comic Con on Saturday, actor Nicolas Cage appeared to confirm he is joining Season five of the HBO anthology crime drama "True Detective" during a "Spotlight" panel.
- Reports first linked Cage to the role of New York detective Henry Logan in August; while he previously described these discussions as ongoing back in May, his recent comments suggest he is now moving forward.
- Explaining his potential shift back to television, Cage stated, "You can only do so many movies back to back to back," noting the decision was partly driven by the need to "feed the family."
- Representatives for HBO declined to comment on the actor's remarks, leaving his involvement officially unconfirmed, while Cage also criticized his former employer Amazon as "very AI-friendly."
- Season five will shift the mystery to Jamaica Bay in New York, with showrunner Issa returning; though the location changes, Issa has stated the series will continue to exist within the same shared universe.
