After the race resumed, Hulkenberg and Lawson battled at Turn 4, with Hulkenberg being pushed off the track. The incident was reviewed by the stewards. Lawson was shown a black and white flag, but no further penalties were imposed.
After the Italian Grand Prix, Audi driver Nico Hülkenberg said about Liam Lawson: "He always likes to push the others away. He never really wants to leave the car wide, that's his trademark."
