Nico Hulkenberg criticized Liam Lawson's driving during their collision at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, saying that trying to push opponents off the track is "his specialty." After the race resumed, Hulkenberg and Lawson battled at Turn 4, with Hulkenberg being pushed off the track. The incident was reviewed by the stewards. Lawson was shown a black and white flag, but no further penalties were imposed.
After the Italian Grand Prix, Audi driver Nico Hülkenberg said about Liam Lawson: "He always likes to push the others away. He never really wants to leave the car wide, that's his trademark."
