On Friday, the Nicaraguan government granted an open-pit mining concession to a Chinese company, for a total of 2,300 hectares between the municipalities of Somotillo and Villanueva, department (province) of Chinandega, bordering Honduras, reported in Managua the Official Journal La Gaceta.
