NIA raids 16 places in Assam, Bengal, Keralam in IMK radicalisation case
- On Tuesday, The National Investigation Agency conducted searches at 16 locations across Assam, West Bengal, and Keralam as part of its investigation into a cross-border terror conspiracy case.
- The NIA alleges that senior Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh member Imam Mahmud Habibullah established Imam Mahmuder Kafila to promote the banned organization's extremist agenda in India.
- Three months ago, the agency filed charges against 11 individuals under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 and the Unlawful Activities Act, 1967, including Nasimuddin and Jagir Mia.
- Of the 16 locations searched, 10 are in Assam, five in West Bengal, and one in Keralam, targeting networks built through clandestine meetings and digital propaganda platforms.
- The agency has uncovered incriminating documents, electronic devices, and digital records during searches, which are being used to build the case before the NIA Special Court in Guwahati.

Tronglaobi IED attack case: NIA arrests second accused
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday said it has arrested the second accused in connection with a case linked to the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack at a residential house in Manipur's Tronglaobi Awang Leikai area in Bishnupur district on April 7 this year, in which two minor children died, and another person was injured.
